Location:
On-site in Chesterfield, Missouri. This is a full-time, hands-on leadership opportunity for a nursing professional who enjoys being present with their team and actively involved in daily operations.
Note:
A current Registered Nurse (RN) license is required. Previous Director of Nursing experience is preferred, but we are open to strong RN leaders who have the clinical experience, longevity, work ethic, and leadership potential to grow into DON responsibilities. Job Description Lead and support the nursing department, providing hands-on direction to nursing staff and daily clinical operations. Ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, high-quality care while maintaining strong clinical standards. Partner with the Administrator and interdisciplinary team to address resident needs and department priorities. Maintain compliance with state and federal long-term care regulations and nursing standards. Establish appropriate staffing priorities and respond effectively to changing daily needs. Provide coaching, education, mentorship, and ongoing development for nursing staff. Build positive relationships with residents, families, physicians, and employees through clear, professional communication. Develop, implement, and reinforce effective nursing policies and procedures. Monitor clinical documentation, resident medical records, quality measures, and overall nursing performance. Help manage department resources and budgets while keeping resident care at the center of decision-making. Foster a respectful, collaborative, accountable, and team-focused nursing culture. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Skilled nursing, long-term care, or similar clinical experience strongly preferred. Previous DON or nursing leadership experience preferred, but not required. Strong communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize effectively and remain composed in a fast-paced clinical environment. Demonstrated commitment to resident-centered care and staff development. Stable employment history and a strong work ethic are highly valued.
