Job Description

Full-Time Graduate from an accredited school of nursing Current ND RN licensure Specialized training:
CPR, TNCC
Duties:
Manage nursing staff: Review, revise, and develop policies and procedures for nursing staff. Complete performance evaluations of nursing staff. Develop nursing schedules to provide adequate patient care. Coordinate ongoing
CPR, ACLS & TNCC
education/certification. Interview and hire nursing staff with approval of the LTC Administrator. Coordinate and manage orientation and training for new staff. Assist with staffing during busy times or when short-staffed. Coordinate regular nursing staff meetings.
Patient care:
Assist the Social Worker in coordinating swing bed and respite care services. Assist and guide discharge planning at all levels of care. Attend and participate in resident care planning. Monitor and investigate patient safety incident reports on Safety Zone. Investigate patient grievances. Coordinate care with other departments. Assist clinical staff and providers with resolving everyday issues. Active participant in quality improvement data submission. The DON is responsible for the overall management and evaluation of nursing care at TCLC including, but not limited to, development and maintenance of nursing policies and procedures, supervision of nursing staff, and ongoing review and analysis of the quality of nursing care. The DON is a member of the TCMC administrative team. The DON may delegate selected nursing activities to other healthcare workers but retains responsibility and accountability for the overall nursing program.
