Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Location:
Winamac, IN Salary:
$95,000-$105,000 per year
Employment:
Full-Time | Direct Hire or Temp-to-Hire Staffing Strategies is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations for a well-established 58-bed skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and memory care community in Winamac, Indiana . This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse leader who enjoys being involved in day-to-day clinical operations, developing nursing staff, and driving quality outcomes in a close-knit long-term care environment. The organization is open to either a direct-hire placement or a temp-to-hire arrangement , depending on the candidate's preference and availability. Director of Nursing Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and direction for the facility's nursing department Oversee RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other clinical team members Ensure residents receive high-quality, person-centered nursing care Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations, CMS requirements, and facility policies Lead survey preparation and participate in plans of correction when necessary Monitor clinical outcomes, quality measures, documentation, and resident care plans Partner closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary leadership team Recruit, train, mentor, and retain nursing staff Manage nursing schedules and staffing levels to maintain appropriate resident coverage Oversee infection prevention, medication management, incident review, and clinical documentation Participate in QAPI and other quality-improvement initiatives Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, staff, and outside providers Maintain a visible, hands-on leadership presence throughout the facility Qualifications Active Indiana RN license required Previous nursing leadership experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or a similar setting strongly preferred DON, ADON, Unit Manager, Clinical Manager, or comparable leadership experience preferred Strong understanding of state and federal long-term care regulations Knowledge of MDS, care planning, survey readiness, infection control, and quality measures Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to build relationships with nursing staff and foster a positive clinical culture Organized, accountable, and comfortable working in a hands-on leadership role Compensation & Opportunity $95,000-$105,000 annual salary , based on experience Full-time leadership position Direct-hire or temp-to-hire options available Opportunity to lead nursing operations within a smaller, community-focused facility Competitive benefits package available for direct-hire employees Supportive leadership environment with the ability to make a meaningful impact on resident care and nursing operations Apply Today If you are an experienced RN leader looking for your next Director of Nursing opportunity, we would love to speak with you.
