We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Rehabilitation to lead rehabilitation services within a Skilled Nursing Facility in Kansas. This leadership opportunity is ideal for a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) who is passionate about clinical excellence, team development, and delivering exceptional patient outcomes. Position Overview The Director of Rehabilitation is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the therapy department. This role oversees daily rehabilitation operations, staff performance, patient outcomes, regulatory compliance, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The Director of Rehabilitation will ensure the delivery of high-quality therapy services while maintaining operational efficiency and compliance with federal, state, and facility guidelines. Responsibilities Direct and oversee all rehabilitation services within the Skilled Nursing Facility. Lead, mentor, and support physical, occupational, and speech therapy staff. Manage staffing schedules, productivity standards, caseload distribution, and departmental performance. Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, state regulations, and facility policies. Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives. Collaborate with nursing, physicians, administration, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care. Participate in care plan meetings, leadership meetings, and facility quality assurance programs. Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations of rehabilitation personnel. Maintain accurate departmental documentation and reporting. Provide direct patient care within the scope of licensure as needed. Qualifications Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) or Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program. Current and unrestricted Kansas Physical Therapist Assistant certification issued by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts or current Kansas Occupational Therapy Assistant license issued by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts. Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility, Long-Term Care, or Rehabilitation setting preferred. Previous rehabilitation management, supervisory, or leadership experience strongly preferred. Strong understanding of skilled nursing rehabilitation, Medicare Part A and Part B services, quality measures, and reimbursement models. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
