Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrophysiology (EP) Technologist to join our Cardiac Electrophysiology team. The EP Technologist assists physicians during diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology procedures, including cardiac mapping, ablations, pacemaker and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) implantations, and other cardiac rhythm management procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, knowledge of cardiac anatomy and arrhythmias, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced procedural environment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare the electrophysiology (EP) laboratory and equipment prior to procedures. Assist physicians during diagnostic electrophysiology studies, cardiac ablations, pacemaker, ICD, and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) device implantations. Operate and troubleshoot EP recording systems, mapping systems, stimulators, and other specialized equipment. Monitor and document cardiac rhythms, intracardiac electrograms, and hemodynamic data throughout procedures. Assist with sterile field setup and maintain strict sterile technique. Prepare and administer supplies, catheters, and equipment required for EP procedures. Monitor patient status during procedures and promptly communicate changes to the physician and clinical team. Document procedural details accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention standards, radiation safety, and quality assurance guidelines. Perform equipment quality checks and report malfunctions promptly. Participate in on-call rotation for emergency cardiac procedures as required. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
