Job Summary The EMT-Basic and Paramedic positions provides rescue and emergency medical services, including initial on-site assessments, medical care, and transportation of patients to advanced medical treatment facilities, in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and protocols. Responsibilities Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls in a calm, efficient and prompt manner Respond to instructions from Emergency Dispatchers while driving and operating specially equipped emergency vehicles to specified locations at a safe and controlled speed as well as in accordance with federal, state and local laws, regulations and standards Assess the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish and prioritize medical procedures Communicate with professional medical personnel and treatment facilities to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and/or transportation to the appropriate center Complete all documentation in a competent and timely fashion Participate in company training to maintain required certifications and licenses Requirements (All Positions) High School graduate or equivalent Excellent written and verbal communication skills Current valid Chauffeurs License with satisfactory driving record Physically capable of meeting job requirements Professional and polite attitude EMT - Basic Active EMT-Basic license Active BLS Certification Paramedic Active Paramedic License Active BLS Certification Active ACLS Certification Universal Ambulance is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, and provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
