- M-F days Station 2 Clinic is launching a new Metabolic Performance Program for firefighters and looking for a Clinical Exercise Physiologist to help build and run it.
You'll conduct maximal cardiopulmonary exercise testing (VO₂max, ECG, expired-gas analysis), turn results into individualized training plans, and coach firefighters — from elite performers to those managing metabolic risk — toward better health and performance.
You'll:
Run maximal CPET with expired-gas analysis, continuous ECG, and blood pressure monitoring Recognize abnormal cardiopulmonary responses and know when to escalate to a physician Build individualized aerobic, strength, and recovery programs Coach behavior change using motivational interviewing Provide nutrition, hydration, and recovery education Collaborate with the clinic's medical team
Required:
Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology, exercise science, kinesiology, or related field ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP), or ACSM-EP with a clear path to CEP Hands-on experience with maximal CPET, expired-gas analysis, and continuous ECG monitoring Ability to recognize abnormal responses and test-termination indications Current
BLS/CPR/AED
Preferred:
Master's degree;
NSCA-CSCS
; experience with firefighters, first responders, military, or tactical athletes; cardiometabolic/nutrition background; ACLS.
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
