Job Description

Associate Marriage & Family Therapist — Private Practice Track Job Summary We are seeking an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist who wants to develop into a highly skilled psychotherapist and eventually build a successful private practice. This position is designed for an associate who is serious about long-term clinical growth. In addition to providing psychotherapy, you will receive supervision focused on developing strong clinical judgment, deepening your therapeutic skills, building confidence as a clinician, and learning how to establish and grow an independent psychotherapy practice. This is not a high-volume agency position. The goal is to help you develop the clinical and professional skills needed to become an effective, thoughtful, and independent therapist. Responsibilities Provide psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families. Conduct intake assessments and develop treatment plans. Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation. Participate actively in individual and group supervision. Develop clinical judgment, case conceptualization, and therapeutic presence. Build and maintain a consistent caseload. Provide in-person and telehealth sessions. Follow all legal, ethical, and professional standards. Who We're Looking For We're looking for an associate with an entrepreneurial mindset who is excited to build a private practice. You should be eager to develop your professional identity, create a website, market yourself ethically, and grow your own caseload. We provide supervision, guidance, and practical support in helping you learn the business and marketing of private practice and the further develop clinical skills in psychotheraputic work.

Entrepreneurial and self-motivated Interested in building a private practice Willing to develop a professional brand and online presence Open to feedback and continual growth Takes initiative and follows through Qualifications Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related mental health field. Registered as an AMFT in California. A clear interest in eventually owning and operating a private psychotherapy practice. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Openness to feedback, supervision, and ongoing professional development. Ability to work independently while remaining engaged in consultation and supervision. Commitment to providing thoughtful, ethical, and client-centered psychotherapy. What You Will Learn How to conduct high-quality psychotherapy. How to develop strong case conceptualization and clinical decision-making skills. How to build confidence and effectiveness as a therapist. How to attract, retain, and manage a private-practice caseload. How to navigate the professional, administrative, and business aspects of private practice. How to transition from associate-level work toward an independent psychotherapy practice.

From $35.00 per hour
