Team Lead/Supervisor - Therapist

Job Description

THERAPIST TEAM LEAD / LICENSED THERAPIST DEFINITION
The Licensed Therapist provides mental health assessments and counseling services (sessions) to individuals, couples, families, and groups. Team Lead for Therapist is responsible for supervising agency therapists and other staff as deemed appropriate, as well as ensuring appropriate, quality service provision to agency clients and external stakeholders.
DUTIES THERAPIST DUTIES
  • Provide a minimum of 10 face-to-face client contacts per week.
  • Complete and sign documentation or related paperwork contemporaneously with service provision (within three (3) business days) and in accordance with agency and certification standards
  • Provide treatment services for outpatient population with psychiatric disorders, ranging in ages from 5 and above with an array of counseling modalities.
  • Complete continuing education hours as required by DMH and agency certification standards.
  • Provide referral and follow-up services for clients.
  • Participate in mobile crisis team coverage when assigned.
  • Provide clinical supervision to non-licensed therapists as assigned.
  • Participate in client staffings, assessments and treatment planning with other providers.
  • Participate in other program activities as assigned.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities as requested.
  • Conduct case finding and outreach activities as requested.
  • Conduct informational programs for civic and social groups as requested.
  • Conduct inservice training as requested.
  • Maintain current CPR certification and First Aid certification.
  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate competency for, at minimum, the following core competencies: Incident Reporting; Progress Notes; Scheduling; Treatment Planning; PSI
  • Perform related work as requested to carry out the purposes, goals and objectives of the agency.
TEAM LEAD DUTIES
  • Perform staff development by providing input in hiring therapist staff, providing orientation and training for therapist staff, providing support to community support specialists, and assigning caseloads and other staff duties.
  • Provide on-call and stand-by crisis intervention services as a QMHP when arranged, and provides backup to therapist staff as needed.
  • Obtain input from therapist team and clients regarding program activities and provide recommendations to the COO regarding policies, procedures and reporting mechanisms.
  • Monitor records for timely completion of clinical documentation (treatment plans, quarterly reviews, progress notes, etc.)
  • Provide formal and informal supervision of therapist staff by maintaining a record of supervisor activities, providing annual employee evaluations, and monitoring and signing, expense reports, vacation and sick leave requests, and other personnel-related paperwork on a timely basis.
  • Participate in client discharge planning from psychiatric inpatient settings.
  • Develop client referral sources and provide liaison to resource providers.
  • Adhere to principles and philosophy as set out by the Department of Mental Health and agency standards.
  • Attend pertinent training scheduled by the Department of Mental Health and the agency, pursuant to training plan developed in conjunction with the COO.
  • Perform related duties as requested to carry out the purposes, goals and objectives of the program and the agency.
C. QUALIFICATIONS
Hold a Graduate or Post-Graduate Degree in counseling, psychology, social work or other related field, and is licensed in the State of Missouri with at least two (2) years experience. Possess current knowledge of mental health treatment modalities and trends. Have the knowledge and skill to assess, evaluate, and diagnose mental health disorders according to the DSM 5. Demonstrate acceptable documentation skills. Have a valid driver's license, automobile and required liability insurance.

Directly responsible to the Chief Operating Officer

Exempt
POSITIONS SUPERVISED
Licensed Therapists and may supervise outpatient clinical staff as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.
