•5 pm Orion is seeking a compassionate and experienced Primary Therapist
•Eating Disorder Specialist to join our clinical team. The Primary Therapist will provide individualized clinical care to clients experiencing eating disorders, disordered eating behaviors, body image concerns, and co-occurring mental health or substance use conditions. This role involves individual, group, and family therapy, clinical assessment, treatment planning, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary treatment team. Position Summary The Primary Therapist will support clients throughout their recovery by: Providing evidence-informed individual, group, and family therapy Conducting comprehensive clinical and biopsychosocial assessments Developing individualized and measurable treatment plans Addressing eating disorder symptoms, body image concerns, emotional regulation, and relapse prevention Supporting clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions Collaborating with medical, psychiatric, nutritional, nursing, and case management professionals Monitoring client progress and adjusting treatment and level-of-care recommendations as needed Developing discharge and continuing-care plans Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation Key Responsibilities Conduct assessments addressing eating disorder symptoms, triggers, body image, and co-occurring conditions. Diagnose mental health, eating, and substance use disorders within the scope of practice and applicable DSM criteria. Provide individual, group, and family therapy using appropriate evidence-informed approaches. Help clients develop coping skills, emotional regulation strategies, and relapse prevention plans. Work collaboratively with dietitians, medical and psychiatric providers, nursing staff, and case managers. Participate in clinical supervision, treatment team meetings, and ongoing professional development. Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Support appropriate referrals and transitions to higher or lower levels of care. Develop effective discharge and continuing-care plans. Required Qualifications Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited institution. Valid New Jersey clinical license or license-eligible credential appropriate to the role. Clinical experience providing psychotherapy to individuals with behavioral health conditions. Clinical understanding of eating disorders and related co-occurring conditions. Strong assessment, treatment planning, crisis assessment, and documentation skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team. Preferred Qualifications New Jersey LCSW or LPC license. Direct clinical experience treating eating disorders. Training in evidence-informed approaches such as:
CBT-E DBT ACT FBT
Motivational Interviewing Experience in PHP, IOP, outpatient, or residential treatment settings. LCADC credential or experience treating substance use disorders. LSW and LAC candidates working toward independent licensure are welcome to apply and will be considered based on experience and supervision availability.
