Reporting directly to the Clinical Director, the Senior Primary Therapist (PT) provides direct client care including counseling assistance to individuals with substance abuse disorders. Collaborates with the clinical team in diagnosis and case management by applying specialized knowledge of human development behaviors and social, economic and cultural systems in directly assisting individuals' families and groups to improve or restore their capacity for social functioning.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assesses client's strengths, needs, abilities and preferences; formulates a diagnostic impression based on current DSM criteria; and in conjunction with the client/family, develops a workable plan for treatment. Performs admission and psycho-social assessments and referrals of all conditions in need of consultation Investigates case situations and presents information to members of a clinical team, on client's family and social background pertinent to diagnosis and treatment Manages assigned case load, and documents client's progress in individual notes as well as group therapy notes. Selects approach to use in individual therapy such as directive, non-directive, and supportive therapy and plans frequency, intensity, and duration of therapy. Provides family therapy sessions and evaluations as needed. Completes treatment plans, discharge summaries and other chart related documents and correspondence for assigned clients in a timely manner. Provide skill building psycho-educational and/or support groups. Work cooperatively with other community resources and referral sources to coordinate services to clients. Strive to increase professional growth and effectiveness through training and by keeping abreast of current trends and theories in relevant areas. Provides crisis intervention services when authorized and necessary. Maintains appropriate state license/registration/certification for scope of practice. Participates in Driftwood's back-up rotation coverage for after hours, weekends, or holidays and emergencies. Attend events and speaking engagements to promote Driftwood and our programs as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Education/Experience:
Master's Degree in a Human Service related field Minimum of 3 years experience in Human Service field LMFT, LCSW, LPC or similar Current CPR and First Aid certificate
Current TB Test Valid Driver's License Job Type:

$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
