Responsibilities Conduct thorough clinical assessments to identify students' mental health needs, including diagnostic evaluations and behavioral observations. Deliver individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment-based therapy, trauma-informed care, and motivational interviewing. Collaborate with school staff, families, and community partners to develop personalized case management plans that address behavioral health concerns and support student development. Implement crisis management protocols and crisis intervention strategies to ensure student safety during emergencies or acute mental health episodes. Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant medical documentation and social work records using appropriate documentation tools; ensure all clinical records are up-to-date and reflect current treatment plans. Facilitate parent/guardian meetings to discuss treatment progress, behavioral strategies, and family counseling needs. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care plans that incorporate special education considerations and developmental disabilities support. Skills Proven experience working with children, adolescents, and their families in a school or clinical setting. Strong knowledge of behavioral health interventions including addiction counseling, trauma-informed care, applied behavior analysis, and child & youth therapy. Expertise in crisis intervention techniques, conflict management, behavior management strategies, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, clinical documentation standards, and social work documentation tools. Ability to deliver culturally competent counseling tailored to diverse student populations; experience with cultural diversity counseling is preferred. Skilled in case management practices, diagnostic evaluation processes, and evidence-based practices for mental health treatment. Excellent communication skills for working effectively with students, families, school personnel, and community agencies; adept at motivational interviewing and counseling if applicable.
