Genetic counselors are an integral part of our high-risk perinatology practice, working collaboratively with maternal-fetal medicine specialists and advanced practice providers to deliver comprehensive care to expectant families. Our private practice currently includes two genetic counselors, six maternal-fetal medicine physicians, and fifteen advanced practice providers. PANM provides ultrasound and maternal-fetal medicine services at fourteen locations throughout New Mexico and El Paso, Texas. Position Overview This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position that offers a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to provide prenatal and preconception genetic counseling for a broad range of high-risk indications. Compensation and Benefits PANM offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and additional benefits. Starting salary of $85,000 for new graduates working a five-day-per-week schedule. Salary and work schedule are negotiable based on experience and the needs of the practice. Reimbursement budget and time off for continuing education (CEUs). Paid membership fees for the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) and the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) . Essential Responsibilities Provide prenatal and preconception genetic counseling for patients with high-risk pregnancies and other genetic concerns. Coordinate appropriate genetic testing and communicate results to patients in a clear and compassionate manner. Review incoming laboratory results from satellite and referral locations. Prepare written consultation summaries and communicate genetic counseling findings and test results to referring healthcare providers. Deliver virtual genetic counseling services to outreach and satellite clinic locations as needed. Qualifications Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program. Board Certified or Board Eligible through the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC). Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
