Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Certified Lactation Consultant to support new mothers and families in achieving successful breastfeeding experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for maternal and neonatal health. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on community health by providing expert guidance, education, and support tailored to individual needs. Duties Provide comprehensive lactation support and counseling to postpartum women, including assessment of breastfeeding techniques and challenges. Develop personalized care plans that incorporate patient education on breastfeeding physiology, nutrition, and neonatal resuscitation procedures. Conduct public speaking engagements and presentations on breastfeeding benefits, maternal health, and infant nutrition to diverse audiences. Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless support during labor & delivery and prenatal care. Utilize electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems for documentation of patient interactions, case management, and data analysis related to breastfeeding outcomes. Work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds to provide culturally sensitive breastfeeding education and support. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of public health guidelines, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and current best practices in lactation consulting. Qualifications Certification as a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC or equivalent) is required. Proven experience in patient care within maternal health, obstetrics, pediatrics, or nursing fields. Strong presentation skills with experience in public speaking and health education initiatives. Multilingual abilities are highly desirable to effectively serve diverse populations. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, nutrition, and neonatal resuscitation procedures relevant to lactation support. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for case management and data analysis purposes. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals from various cultural backgrounds. Data analytics skills to monitor breastfeeding success rates and improve program outcomes.
