Desired Qualifications Position Purpose A Wellness Ambassador assists with promoting and supporting the overall health and well-being of students, faculty, and staff by encouraging participation in wellness programs and initiatives. This role involves educating the campus community about available resources, wellness opportunities, and healthy lifestyle choices through in-person interactions, events, and digital platforms. The Wellness Ambassador will assist in organizing wellness events, activities, and campaigns, fostering a positive and supportive environment for physical, mental, and emotional health. They will serve as a resource, providing information, guidance, and support to help individuals reach their wellness goals. Job Duties Office Hours & Communication Maintain weekly in-person office hours to connect with supervisors and team members. Communicate with other Recreation and Well-Being areas and other campus & community partners for various programs. Program Planning & Coordination Conduct research and benchmarking to create and implement engaging, enjoyable, and supportive programs that benefit the OU community. Engage actively in program brainstorming sessions Generate awareness of health topics impacting OU students and employees through a variety of methods including presentations, workshops, educational tabling, programs and events, social media campaigns, flyers, personal interactions, as well as general accessibility through programs participation Collaborate with team members to support all program preparations, including aiding colleagues and occasionally taking charge. Contribute to program planning as assigned. Collaboration & Teamwork Work independently and collaboratively to complete projects and programs efficiently. Be willing to seek out opportunities to collaborate, including but not limited to within Recreation & Well-Being, OU Student Organizations, OU Departments, etc. Provide appropriate care in emergency situations as stated in the Emergency Action Plan.
