Peer Support Wellness Coach

Job Description

Peer Support Wellness Coach As a member of the Wellness team, the Peer Support Wellness Coach will mentor and provide supportive coaching to identified clients and groups to support health and wellness goals. This role will help create a welcoming, supportive environment where clients feel understood, respected and empowered. Duties Knowledge of current trends in children and family wellness such as nervous system literacy, activities to support mental health, enhancing community connections and supporting holistic wellness family rituals. In conjunction with the wellness grant team create and deliver wellness activities on-site and in the community to support and promote healthy lifestyles. A willingness to be trained or have knowledge of development from 0 - 22 years. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to abide by confidentiality policies. Organize quarterly health wellness workshops to promote healthy lifestyle changes and provide a platform for youth and families to interact and build supportive relationships. Ability to tailor individual plans of care with clients that coordinate wellness, behavioral and medical services. Knowledge of healthy nutrition and mental health, nature exposure, mindfulness, play and recovery-based concepts helpful. Compensation and Benefits WCMHS provides a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, retirement, and a generous paid time off package including flexible holidays and 12 vacation days in year one. The starting pay range for this position is $21.73 - $22.62 per hour. Summary of Qualifications Highschool diploma or equivalent, college preferred. Prior experience in mental health, peer support, or human services preferred. Strong communication and written documentation skills. Ability to work independently while maintaining appropriate boundaries, professionalism and confidentiality. Basic computer skills and comfort completing electronic or written records and ability to deliver services and complete treatment notes in English. Due to the rural nature of our catchment area, a valid driver's license, excellent driving record, and access to a safe, reliable, insured vehicle is required.
