POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Wellness staff at
SWC YMCA
maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for everyone throughout the facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Building Relationships:
Learning members names, assisting/coaching members, making everyone feel welcome Be committed to the mission, goals and core values of the YMCA He or she emphasizes customer service, facility cleanliness, dress code, abiding by and enforcing all facility policy and procedures, and upholding the highest standards of performance to promote the Y's culture of honesty, professionalism an d genuine concern Responsible for conducting Wellness Center Orientations Maintaining cleanliness, this includes dusting, sweeping, towels and straightening/organizing equipment Provide information about other fitness programming Be knowledgeable about strength and conditioning and cardiovascular training Respond appropriately in various situations in order to safely assist members Must be able to lift up to 50lbs Attend departmental meetings Any other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or
GED CPR/AED
& First Aid Mandated Reporter Training Listen First Training Complete the Orientation to Healthy Living (Link) Complete Principles of Member Health & Wellness (Link) Complete Wellness Center at the Y (Link) Complete Navigating Community Health Resources (Link) Complete SMART Service and New Hire Orientation Must demonstrate a personal commitment to the mission of the YMCA Must be a role model Good communication skills (both verbal and written), and ability to work effectively with people as part of a team Must be effective at building relationships with members, staff and volunteers Must be 18 years and older
