Contract Amount:
$23/hourly The Programming Department is responsible for the selection, booking, and scheduling of all films presented at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. The Programming Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the programming team across all areas related to the department, helping to maintain accurate information, facilitate communication, and ensure the department operates efficiently and effectively. Key responsibilities and qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to:
Pre-Festival:
  • Answer general phone and email inquiries and direct calls/emails to appropriate programming staff
  • Maintain programming database (FileMaker Pro) including research, technical data, print source information and support materials
  • Assist in the confirmation process of all films invited to the festival and entering mandatory details into the database
  • Collect and record publicity materials (Stills, trailers, EPK's etc.) for all films in the festival
  • Perform research on major film publications for new titles & film reviews
  • Administrative and logistical support for festival programming, which may include Filmmakers Retreats, panels, jury candidates, educational programs, Family Day, and special screenings/presentations as needed
  • Correspond with jury members and coordinate materials and information prior to on-site arrival
  • Assist programming department in film scheduling process and data input
  • Proofread the Souvenir Program Guide, Desert Sun Guide & website for accuracy, ensuring the correct representation of films and related information
During Festival:
  • Assist with jury needs, including communication, scheduling, and onsite support for any in-person screenings & jury deliberations
  • Assist in proofreading Awards recipients for website
  • Perform film introductions and administer Q&A sessions during the festival, as needed
  • Work closely under the guidance of the Programming Manager and Artistic Director for other duties as assigned
Post-Festival:
  • Assist with shipping award statues to filmmakers
  • Write a comprehensive wrap report summarizing the programming activities and lessons learned during the festival Abilities required
  • Minimum 1 year of film festival experience, preferably in programming
  • Working knowledge of Filemaker Pro, Microsoft Office products, Canva
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize
  • Experience dealing with confidential information
Pay:
$23.00 per hour
