Health Technician (Substitute) at La Habra City School District Print Application Deadline Until Filled Date Posted 9/2/2026 Contact Adriana Maciel 5626902305 80304 Number of Openings 3 Salary Single Rate $22.96 Per Hour Length of Work Year On-call/As needed Employment Type Part Time Job Summary Job Summary The job of Health Technician is for the purpose of providing a variety of health services to students, under the direction of the Site Principal and credentialed school nurse; creating and maintaining health records, referrals and reports; administering routine first aid; assisting in screening ill, injured, and medically fragile students; assisting with health testing programs and other health related services as required; coordinating with other personnel in supporting students with special needs; and documenting activities in accordance with established guidelines and/or regulatory requirements. This job reports to the Site Administrator or designee. View Job Description Requirements / Qualifications Education/Training/Experience Any combination equivalent: Graduation from high school or equivalency. One (1) year of experience providing health related services including First Aid in an educational, health care or childcare setting. Experience working with community health service organizations or experience providing health care services to school-aged children is highly desirable. EXAMINATION PROCEDURES
At the time of this announcement, we are establishing a substitute pool. Candidates must achieve a passing score on each component of the assessment process to be placed in the substitute pool. Placement in the pool makes candidates eligible to work on an as-needed, on-call basis for this classification, but does not guarantee a minimum number of hours or permanent employment. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each test part of the examination process. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each test part. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be twelve (12) months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill current and future permanent and substitute vacancies. Applicants who may need reasonable accommodation for interviewing or testing must notify the Personnel Department at (562) 690-2321, three business days prior to the testing date. Date of Examination Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email or telephone of the time, date and place of the examination(s).
