In this hands-on role (up to 40 hours per week) you will provide specialized wound care and direct support to patients in our outpatient clinic. Working closely with medical assistants and wound care-certified NPs and MAs, you will help deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate care that promotes healing. This is a flexible opportunity in a focused wound-care environment that values clinical excellence and teamwork. Duties Assess and monitor patients' wounds and accurately document wound status, measurements, and treatment progress in the EHR. Perform wound cleaning, dressing changes, basic debridement, and application of advanced wound therapies according to established protocols and provider orders. Coordinate daily care with medical assistants and wound care-certified NPs and MAs to ensure smooth patient flow and consistent treatment. Maintain strict infection-control and patient-safety standards to prevent cross-contamination and support optimal healing. Assist with patient positioning and transfers while prioritizing safety and comfort. Educate patients and caregivers on proper wound care techniques, hygiene, and home-care instructions. Operate and maintain wound-care related medical equipment and supplies with attention to proper function and readiness. Requirements Prior experience in wound care, outpatient clinics, medical-surgical, or post-acute settings preferred. Comfort working with a variety of wound types (diabetic, venous, pressure, surgical, etc.). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification required. Strong documentation skills and familiarity with EHR systems. Ability to work effectively as part of a team with medical assistants and wound care-certified NPs/MAs. Excellent communication skills for patient and caregiver education. Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to infection-control best practices.
