Responsibilities Assist residents and patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and personal hygiene to promote comfort and independence. Monitor vital signs and observe changes in patient condition, promptly reporting any concerns to supervising healthcare professionals. Administer medications and treatments following prescribed protocols while maintaining accurate medical documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support specialized care needs including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice support, tube feeding, catheter care, and memory care. Ensure compliance with all state healthcare regulations and HIPAA guidelines by maintaining strict patient confidentiality at all times. Perform manual handling tasks safely during resident transfers or heavy lifting activities to prevent injury. Document medical records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Cerner or similar platforms. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to coordinate personalized care plans and ensure a positive caregiving experience. Requirements Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and senior or geriatric patient care practices. Valid certification as a Certified Medical Technician (CMT) or equivalent; active license from the State Board of Nursing is required where applicable. Certifications in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), First Aid, Basic Life Support (BLS), and hospice or Alzheimer's care are strongly recommended. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities enhances your ability to provide compassionate support. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks associated with resident transfers or equipment use. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or comparable platforms for accurate medical documentation. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
