Job Description

Aspen Valley Hospital is seeking a compassionate Patient Care Technician to support nurses and providers in delivering exceptional bedside care. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, obtaining vital signs, transporting patients, maintaining clean and safe rooms, and documenting care in the EMR. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, reliable, and a strong team player. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, use advanced technology, and grow your skills in a close-knit, mountain community hospital environment dedicated to wellness and work-life balance. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, mobility, and comfort measures Obtain and accurately document vital signs, intake/output, and patient observations in the EMRSupport nurses and providers with procedures, specimen collection, and patient preparation Transport patients safely to tests, procedures, and other units Maintain a clean, safe, and stocked patient care environment following infection control standards Respond promptly to call lights and patient needs, escalating concerns to nursing staff Use proper body mechanics and equipment for safe patient handling and transfers Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and the care team Monitor patient status and promptly report changes to the RN or provider Participate in team huddles, education, and quality initiatives to improve patient care Required Skills Patient care assistance Vital signs measurement Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Infection control Basic life support Phlebotomy or blood draws EKG acquisition Patient transport Body mechanics and safe lifting Medical terminology
