Job Overview We're looking for a compassionate, grounded, and energetic Trauma-Informed Doula to walk alongside expectant parents enrolled in Medicaid. In this role, you'll offer steady, patient-centered support that prioritizes emotional safety, cultural respect, and clear health education through every stage of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. You'll serve as a trusted partner and advocate, helping families feel informed, heard, and supported. Because this position supports Medicaid members, candidates must meet all state doula qualification requirements to be paneled with Medicaid (we will handle the actual paneling submission process for you).
What You'll Do Empower & Educate:
Provide trauma-informed support and gentle education through prenatal visits, labor and delivery, and the postpartum transition. Demystify the
Process:
Help clients understand medical terms, procedures, and birth plans so they can make confident choices for their care.
Guide & Teach:
Lead down-to-earth education sessions on prenatal wellness, nursing/feeding, anatomy, and newborn safety.
Collaborate:
Partner closely with healthcare providers and care teams to keep support seamless and holistic.
Document Care:
Keep accurate, timely notes in our EHR system to track client progress and care plans.
Build Connection:
Connect authentically with clients from all walks of life, delivering inclusive, respectful care every step of the way.
Track Outcomes:
Help gather community health insights so we can keep improving our program and better serve our families.
What We're Looking For Qualifications:
Meets all state requirements necessary for Medicaid doula paneling. Heart for
Service:
Deep understanding of trauma-informed principles and comfort working with diverse cultural backgrounds.
Core Knowledge:
Familiarity with pregnancy, birth physiology, basic postpartum care, and medical terminology.
Tech & Communication:
Comfortable using EHR systems for charting and confident speaking with individuals or small groups.
Bonus Points:
Training or certification in lactation support or neonatal resuscitation (NRP).
Pay:
$60.00 per hour Expected hours: 5.0 - 10.0 per week
