Andrews, Tx Worksite Facility Summary Performs safety and health activities to evaluate and control safety hazards by performing the duties below. This position reports directly to the Health and Safety Manager. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may receive occupational exposures to ionizing radiation that are As Low As is Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) and within regulatory limits. Essential duties and Responsibilities include the following and any other duties as assigned.
  • Identify potential causes for accidents and recommend changes in policies and procedures.
  • Apply and reinforce the skills learned through human performance training and behavior-based safety to prevent personal errors and errors by other team members.
  • Observe field activities and intervene to pause/stop work as necessary.
  • Maintain and calibrate safety instruments.
  • Clean, inspect and repair respirators/SCBA equipment.
  • Conduct respirator fit testing.
  • Conduct In-person trainings on health and safety topics.
  • Facilitate hearing tests.
  • Maintain inventory on safety and emergency response supplies/equipment.
  • Perform facility inspections of safety related items.

Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience per the hiring manager. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write professional correspondence that may be read by all levels of management. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Able to present safety topics with little to no notice. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Natural balance sufficient for standing on ladders or scaffolding.
