Help Save Lives Every Day Saving with Soul Pet Rescue is seeking an organized, compassionate, and self-motivated Rescue Medical Coordinator to oversee the medical care of more than 100 dogs both onsite and in foster homes. This is not a veterinary technician position. While medical experience is valuable, we're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, coordinating people and schedules, and keeping many moving pieces running smoothly. If you're highly organized, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want a career that truly makes a difference, we'd love to meet you. Primary Responsibilities Medical Coordination Coordinate medical care for onsite and foster dogs. Schedule veterinary appointments, diagnostics, surgeries, and follow-up care. Work closely with our Veterinarian of Record to ensure appropriate care and follow established medical protocols. Communicate with foster families regarding medical needs and treatment plans. Maintain accurate medical records. Coordinate medical transports when needed. Spay/Neuter Program Coordinate all aspects of our high-volume spay/neuter program. Schedule surgeries and transportation. Prepare paperwork and ensure dogs are ready for surgery. Track surgeries and post-operative care. Resolve scheduling conflicts and last-minute changes. Medical Operations Monitor medical inventory and assist with ordering supplies. Coordinate medical processing for new rescue intakes. Help maintain efficient medical systems and workflows. Assist with general rescue operations as needed, including phones, visitors, admissions, and administrative projects. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate: Takes ownership and doesn't wait to be told what to do. Is exceptionally organized and detail-oriented. Enjoys solving problems and juggling multiple priorities. Communicates confidently with staff, veterinarians, and foster families. Works well independently while being a strong team player. Remains calm under pressure. Is flexible and willing to help wherever needed. Comfortable using computers and learning software systems, including maintaining accurate digital records and communicating by email and text. Qualifications Experience in animal rescue, shelter medicine, animal welfare, or veterinary medicine strongly preferred. Experience coordinating medical care, scheduling, or operations is highly desirable. Management or supervisory experience is a significant plus. Veterinary experience is helpful, but an ownership mindset is more important than technical veterinary skills. Comfortable learning software and maintaining detailed records. Valid driver's license and a good driving record are strongly preferred. Comfortable driving rescue vehicles and transporting dogs. Schedule This is generally a full-time Monday through Friday position during normal business hours. Some early mornings are required for surgery transports and other medical logistics. Occasional weekend availability is a plus but is not expected on a routine basis. After training and demonstrated proficiency, a hybrid work schedule may be available for portions of the week. Why Saving with Soul? Saving with Soul helps more than 1,200 dogs every year, and every member of our team plays an important role in that mission. We believe in hiring great people, giving them the autonomy to succeed, and supporting them as they grow. If you're looking for meaningful work where you can make a real difference in the lives of homeless dogs, we'd love to hear from you.
