Job Description
The Medical Staff Credentialing Coordinator is a management support position with responsibilities for medical staff functions to maintain federal, state, and other licensing regulatory standards. Helps coordinate meeting agendas, minutes, and follow-up. Acts as liaison between medical staff office and medical staff. This position requires travel to all site locations. Education High School Diploma or GED Experience Three years of related experience. Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
Excellent customer relations skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Minimum 3 years experience in administrative support function, preferably in a medical management setting.
Must be diplomatic and tactful.

Preferred certification CPCS or CPMSM after three years of experience in Medical Staff Office.
Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to learn additional programs used in the department.
Proficient organization skills for multi-tasking. detail oriented. Area of Responsibilities
Assists with coordination of Medical Executive Committee and Credentialing Committee, including preparing materials and notices prior to meetings, documenting proceedings, maintaining records, and follow-up on actions taken. Also transcribes meeting minutes and documents on portal as requested.
Assumes responsibility for timely maintenance of accurate, current, confidential files, and timely entering of data in credentialing software computer program and in Meditech provider dictionary. Responsible to coordinate and expedite resolution of these issues.
Provides resources for Medical Staff Leadership, Medical Staff, Department Directors, Quality staff and other health care professionals as requested by Director of Physician Services and VP for Medical Services Integration.
Responsible for timely Medical Staff credentialing and re-credentialing process to ensure that all individuals with clinical privileges provide services within the scope of their training, licensure, and individual privileges.
Accept and process through the appropriate Medical Staff committees all requests of additions deletions of privileges. Ensure that the necessary documentation is obtained and processed according to time schedule established by Medical Staff By-Laws, including verification of licensure and malpractice insurance, Board Certifications and other certifications that expire along with running data bank reports initially, at reappointment, and with increase of privilege. Also establishes, implements, and ensures that Medical Staff Service practices and procedures are in accordance with Joint Commission (The Joint Commission) and CMS standards, National Committee Quality Assurance (NCQA) standards and other regulatory agencies, Medical Staff Bylaws, specific Medical Staff policies, and overall organization policies. Maintain a current Medical Staff roster and distribute changes to appropriate hospital departments. Responsible for the credentialing and recredentialing process for the Health West PHO.
Serves as liaison between the medical staff and ancillary departments in matters pertaining to the medical staff.
Assists with the ordering of supplies and materials, incoming and outgoing mail, maintaining office equipment functionality, and electronic reports.
Complete required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Prepares reference requests from third parties and submits to Medical Director of Quality.
Compliance Statement Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.
