The Behavioral Health Director leads a dedicated, small community-based out-patient behavioral health clinic for the Stickney Township Public Health District. The Director provides counselling services, administrative oversight and clinical supervision for a small mental health staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual therapy services to community members, family, couples, and/or group therapy, utilizing evidenced-based treatment models
Oversee the operations of the Behavioral Health Clinic while maintaining a reduced caseload (approximately 50%).
Oversee the intake process for new consumers
Supervise and support clinical staff therapists; assist in conducting acute crisis assessments and prescreening evaluations for inpatient psychiatric care
Facilitate weekly clinical staff meetings to provide administrative updates, manage case assignments, and foster a collaborative approach to case consultations
Maintain annual recertification requirements of the Behavioral Health Clinic
Ensure clinic operations comply with HFS community-based behavioral health services guidelines and Medicaid provider standards
Accountable for maintaining the accuracy, security, and integrity of the electronic mental health records through implementation of a peer-review quality assurance system
Maintain IM+CANS certification
Develop and implement operational policies and procedures
Conduct annual performance evaluations that drive professional growth, and align with the strategic goals of the Behavioral Health Clinic
Analyze data and evaluate program effectiveness, providing quarterly management reports to community stakeholders
Participate in the development of a 5-year community health plan, ensuring behavioral health initiatives are integrated into the strategic vision
Advance the overall mission of the Stickney Township Public Health District by enhancing community educational activities that support emotional well-being and challenge mental health stigma
Qualifications:
Education:
Master's or Doctoral degree in a behavioral health discipline from a regionally accredited graduate school
Licensure:
Active licensure (i.e., Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Psychologist) which meets the Medicaid requirements for Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA)
Experience:
7+years in behavioral health, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role

Compensation & Benefits:
Starting Salary Range $80,000
105,000, commensurate with experience. An excellent benefits package includes paid time off, sick leave, paid holidays, health, vision and dental insurance, and Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund pension. Typical working hours are 8:30 a.m.
