This pivotal role combines clinical expertise, leadership, and strategic oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and effective treatment programs for individuals seeking recovery from substance use disorders. Duties Provide medical oversight for addiction medication, including prescribing and monitoring medications such as buprenorphine, methadone (if applicable), and naltrexone. Establish and enforce clinical protocols, policies, and quality standards in alignment with federal, state, and accreditation requirements. Collaborate with medical and clinical staff, including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and behavioral health providers. Conduct patient evaluations, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning for substance use and co-occurring disorders. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (e.g., DEA, SAMHSA, state licensing boards). • Provide consultation on complex clinical cases and support continuous quality improvement initiatives. Participate in program development, staff training, and community engagement efforts. Co-Host weekly clinical staff meetings with the Director of Medication Assisted Recovery.
Required Qualifications & Credentials:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution. Active, unrestricted medical license in the State of practice. Board certification in Addiction Medicine, Psychiatry, or a related specialty strongly preferred. Current DEA registration with
DATA 2000
waiver (X-waiver) or eligibility to prescribe MAT medications. Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in addiction medicine, behavioral health, or substance use treatment. Demonstrated knowledge of medication-assisted treatment protocols and best practices. Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a clinical setting preferred. Strong understanding of federal and state regulations governing substance use treatment programs.
