The Health Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating public health programs, community outreach, and school-based health initiatives, and for supporting the implementation of clinical and population health services within the County.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to: 1. Serves as liaison between the Health Department and public and private school systems, including coordination with school administrators and nursing staff. 2. Coordinates and assists with school-based health programs, including vision, hearing, and dental screenings. 3. Collects and maintains required immunization data for school-aged children in accordance with state guidelines; assists with data entry and maintenance for public health programs, including CHIRP, INDESS, and other systems, as assigned. 4. Assists in planning, coordinating, and implementing department immunization programs, including mobile and offsite clinics. 5. Verifies Medicaid eligibility, submits and follows up on claims, collects fees, and prepares deposits in accordance with County procedures. 6. Supports public health outreach efforts, including development and distribution of educational materials and community health information. 7. Collaborates with community partners and agencies to support health and wellness initiatives. 8. Prepares reports, charts, and program documentation to support departmental activities and grant requirements. 9. Coordinates daily clinic logistics, including scheduling, setup, and supply preparation for appointments. 10. Assists with the implementation of public health programs, policies, and procedures. 11. Attends school meetings, community meetings, and required state trainings as necessary. 12. Responds to requests for public health-related information from schools, community partners, and the public. 13. Completes administrative duties to include attending meetings, reviewing reports, submitting documentation, and responding to inquiries, as needed. 14. Maintains an effective communication process with the Director and Deputy Director of Health.

Education and/or
Experience:
Associate's degree from a two-year college or university in a related field plus three-years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Previous experience in a school and/or public health related field preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities:

Computer software skills required include: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

The ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with complex, highly sensitive information is required.

The ability to work with other County offices internally and externally to resolve issues is required.

The ability to speak, read and write in English is required.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally is exposed to working near moving mechanical parts and the risk of electrical shock when working with office equipment and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. While the Health Department is usually open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, this position may require work beyond these hours and on the weekends. It also may require the ability to drive a County vehicle. Thus, a valid driver's license may be required.

$21.22 per hour
