Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly qualified Clinical Laboratory Director to lead and oversee the operations of our clinical laboratory. This pivotal role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, maintaining high-quality laboratory practices, and managing laboratory personnel. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in clinical laboratory management, with a strong background in laboratory techniques, quality assurance, and regulatory adherence. Responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership and supervision for all laboratory activities, ensuring adherence to CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) regulations and other applicable standards. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of laboratory procedures, including assays such as ELISA, PCR, flow cytometry, immunoassays, and other diagnostic tests. Manage the calibration, validation, and quality control of medical laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results. Supervise laboratory staff in specimen collection, processing, analysis, and reporting while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols, aseptic techniques, blood banking procedures, and proper specimen handling. Oversee the management of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), document management systems, and data collection processes for accurate record keeping. Maintain thorough knowledge of clinical chemistry, hematology, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to laboratory testing. Coordinate with clinical teams on sample collection procedures such as venipuncture and blood sampling to ensure specimen integrity. Lead quality assurance initiatives by implementing QA/QC protocols, conducting audits, and managing corrective actions to uphold high standards of laboratory performance. Facilitate training programs for staff on new techniques or equipment updates while ensuring compliance with hospital or healthcare facility policies. Monitor schedule management for laboratory operations to optimize workflow efficiency. Prepare reports for regulatory agencies and participate in accreditation processes to sustain certification standards.

Qualifications:

Graduate of a CAHEA accredited Medical Technology Program or equivalent. ASCP Certified. Bachelor's Degree or higher from a regionally accredited college/university in Chemical, Physical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science, and/or Medical Technology. Minimum of five (5) years of medical laboratory experience with at least two (2) years of hospital supervisory experience. Ability to work all areas of hospital laboratory; CAP Survey experience. 110 bed hospital with an ER, Skilled Nursing Unit, Surgery/Recovery unit, OB unit, Medical Unit, ICU. The lab offers chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis, coagulation, blood bank, molecular, and microbiology testing.
