Job Description

BACKGROUND
Vision 2C, an optometrist's office in Brewer, ME, is anticipating rapid growth over the next 3-6 months. We need an outgoing staff member to field inquiries from the public and to energetically guide patient flow through our office, from appointment scheduling to checkout. Our goal at Vision 2C is to help individuals and families achieve and maintain healthy vision with personalized care in a comfortable, welcoming environment. We opened our Brewer location in June 2026.
DESCRIPTION
In this position, you will powerfully influence public perception of our clinic's competence and you will impact the willingness of prospective patients to develop a long-term professional relationship with us. This position requires efficiency and accuracy in gathering and reporting information; you will understand where details fit into the entire medical record and the scope of a complete eye exam. This position requires that you stay oriented to the goal of efficiency despite interruptions that require re-prioritization and shifting attention.
DUTIES:
  • Provide information about office locations, hours, services, and exam pricing
  • Explain insurance coverage when necessary
  • Collect and enter patient information accurately into an electronic medical record system
  • Operate digital tools for measuring the eye
  • Receive payments and record financial transactions
  • Make necessary followup by phone, fax and/or text with patients, their family members, and/or health professionals.
  • Collaborate and train with the optometrist to ensure ongoing self-sufficiency
QUALIFICATIONS
You must be foresightful and business-minded as you problem solve. Technical savvy is a huge plus. Fearlessness in learning software, including medical record programs, is required.
