Culinary Supervisor- Collegiate Hospitality

Job Description

The Culinary Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily food production and kitchen operations to ensure high-quality food preparation, presentation, sanitation, and customer satisfaction. This position provides leadership and direction to culinary staff, supports inventory and food cost management, and ensures compliance with all food safety and workplace safety standards. Essential functions and responsibilities may vary based on location, business needs, and operational requirements. Job Responsibilities Supervise the production, preparation, and presentation of all foods for Residential Dining Hall Ensure all food items are prepared, cooked, and presented according to established recipes, quality standards, and service expectations. Ensure proper handling of all food products and equipment is maintained, to ensure food safety and kitchen standards are adhered to at all times. Ensure cleanliness and high sanitation standards are maintained at all times Train, coach, and develop culinary team members on food preparation techniques, sanitation standards, and safety procedures. Address customer concerns related to food quality and service in a professional manner. Support menu execution, special events, catering functions, and promotional activities as needed. Ensure security and proper utilization of company assets, products, and equipment. Qualifications Two to three years' experience in a related culinary position Candidate will possess two to three years of post-high school education, preferably a culinary degree Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession Experiential knowledge required for management of people and/or problems Excellent oral, reading, and written communication skills Candidate must be willing to be hands on with staff and operations and be willing to work hours that will include evenings and weekends. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions. Ability to work in varying kitchen conditions, including exposure to heat, steam, and cold environments. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and kitchen safety equipment as appropriate. $19.00•$21.00 per hour
