Sep 1, 2026 Job Description BASC Site Coordinator Taylorsville Elementary School 30 Hours per week(Split Shift 6am-8am and 2pm-6pm) General Statement of Job The BASC Site Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the BASC site every morning and every afternoon. This staff member must perform duties as provided by the NC Child Care Rules. The site coordinator provides an environment that ensures the safety and well-being of all students along with providing age-appropriate activities in accordance with the NC Child Care Licensing Requirements. This staff member manages behavioral issues and will lead small group activities. This employee will maintain sanitation guidelines for the facility and does housekeeping duties and various clerical duties. This staff member reports to BASC Program Director. Required qualifications Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, preferred or EDU 119 or the equivalent Certificate in BASC Training Successful work experience with children in licensed care, preferred Skilled in using computers, email, and other software Applicant must hold a valid NC state driver's license Applicant must be 18 years of age By the first day of employment, these items must be in place: TB test within last 12 months by a medical practitioner licensed in NC Criminal Background Check through

Portal Medical Form by Physician CPR Certification Essential duties and responsibilities Completes all health and safety trainings, staff orientation, and all annual trainings required by licensed childcare. Attends all staff meetings. Enrolls students who will be attending before and after school care and maintains required records on each child. Maintains reports, attendance sheets, and performs a variety of recordkeeping duties. Maintains compliance book and student files as required by NC Childcare Rules. Collects weekly payments for childcare fees. Manages messaging app to communicate with all parents of students enrolled in BASC. Maintains and respects the confidentiality of student and other information gathered. Constantly monitors the safety and well-being of students. Monitors student behavior and maintains discipline. Praises and reinforces achievement of students; promotes self-esteem. Provides an environment of positive social and emotional wellness for all. Builds positive relationships with students and parents. Plan and facilitate crafts, STEM hands-on-learning activities and fitness challenges. Closely supervises students during transitions along with ensuring safety on the playground. Performs general housekeeping and sanitation duties as required by licensed childcare. Must complete designated emergency drills, (fire and lockdown.) Additional duties Performs other related tasks as assigned by the BASC Program Director. Essential knowledge and abilities Must be prepared to deal with emergency situations should they arise. Employee must have the ability to interpret and establish appropriate rules, methods, and techniques in maintaining a disciplined environment. Applicant must have strong interpersonal skills and patience. Experience working with children and knowledge of conflict resolution techniques is strongly encouraged. Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently. Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be able to use a variety of equipment and classroom tools such as computers and copiers.
