Full-time Director of Clinical Services Position Summary The Director of Clinical Services provides leadership and oversight for the facility's clinical services.
This position works with the Administrator, Medical Director, and clinical team to ensure residents receive high-quality care in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies. The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for clinical operations, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, staff development, and the effective delivery of resident care. This position works under the direction of the Administrator and carries out duties and responsibilities as delegated. Essential Functions Provide leadership, direction, and oversight for the facility's clinical services. Ensure clinical services are provided in accordance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and facility policies. Ensure resident clinical needs are met and high-quality care is maintained. Determine clinical staffing needs and assist with scheduling, recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of clinical staff. Develop, review, implement, and improve clinical policies, procedures, systems, and practices. Monitor clinical operations and identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, safety, and resident outcomes. Develop, implement, and maintain ongoing quality assurance and performance improvement programs. Review clinical documentation, care plans, medication administration, treatments, and other clinical practices to support compliance and quality of care. Address resident, family, and staff concerns, complaints, and grievances related to clinical services. Plan and support orientation, education, and ongoing training for clinical staff. Participate in regulatory surveys and assist with survey preparation, plans of correction, and ongoing compliance. Review clinical data and trends to support operational planning, quality improvement, and risk reduction. Assist with clinical budgets, resource utilization, equipment needs, and cost management under the direction of the Administrator. Maintain effective communication and collaboration with facility leadership, medical staff, residents, families, and other healthcare professionals. Stay current on changes in clinical practices, healthcare regulations, technology, and industry standards. Ensure clinical staff follow established safety practices and maintain resident confidentiality. Perform other duties as assigned or delegated by the Administrator. Required Education and Experience Nursing degree from an accredited college or university. Minimum of one year of supervisory experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related healthcare setting preferred. Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the applicable state.
