Job Description

Physical Therapy Director Employment Type:
Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking a driven, licensed Physical Therapist with a proven track record of building and managing successful PT departments. The Physical Therapy Director will oversee all clinical and administrative operations, spearhead business development initiatives, manage staffing and payroll, and ensure the highest standards of quality control and patient care.
Core Responsibilities Department Development & Leadership:
Lead the ground-up build-out, scaling, and day-to-day management of the Physical Therapy department.
Staffing & Team Management:
Recruit, hire, onboard, and mentor clinical and administrative staff. Manage daily scheduling to optimize patient flow, minimize wait times, and maximize facility utilization.
Financial & Payroll Oversight:
Oversee the department budget, manage and approve payroll for all PT staff, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue, claim denials, and operational expenses.
Business Development:
Drive department growth through community outreach, building strong physician referral networks, and implementing strategic marketing initiatives.
Quality Control & Compliance:
Perform regular chart audits, ensure strict adherence to state and federal healthcare regulations (including HIPAA), and monitor patient outcome metrics to maintain clinical excellence.
Clinical Practice:
Maintain a partial clinical caseload, providing high-quality, evidence-based care to patients while modeling clinical best practices for the therapy team.
Required Qualifications Licensure:
Active, unrestricted State License as a Physical Therapist (PT).
Clinical Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of active, hands-on clinical practice experience.
Leadership Experience:
Demonstrated success in launching, scaling, and running a physical therapy clinic or department from the ground up.
Business Acumen:
Strong practical knowledge of healthcare payroll systems, staffing models, and clinic profit/loss management.
Quality Assurance:
Deep understanding of healthcare quality control standards, medical billing compliance, and documentation protocols.
Pay:
$120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
