Orthopaedic Surgical Practice located in coastal NJ, is seeking a Full-Time Medical Biller/Manager to provide supervisory oversight of all facets of the billing and collections department including claims processing, accounts receivable and revenue management.
Responsibilities Include:
Performs revenue management functions from claims review and submission through payment posting, resolution of denied/rejected claims, collections, and reporting. Works with the management software and clearinghouse vendors to ensure the receipt of contractual insurance payments and the quick resolution of under/over payments. Ensures all operations and billing staff are aware of the Practice's accepted insurances and participating providers. Oversees claim submission of billing specialists using eClinicalWorks software via the TriZetto Clearinghouse. Supervises the billing staff to ensure clean claims submissions, appealing inaccurate claims denials/rejections, and reprocessing claims for payment under the timely filing requirements. Monitors monthly aging reports, conducts follow-up on unpaid claims; identifies underpayments for correct payments, works to maintain a clean aged receivable report. Conducts regular audits of billing to identify coding and billing errors. Provides training to billing staff, develops quality improvement metrics for increased performance and revenue cycle management. Performs special projects and other duties as requested.
Skills:
A Bachelor's degree or relevant experience with proven and progressive professional development in Billing Management; open to advancement potential. Minimum of 5 years in business supervisory or management position. Experience working with insurance payers, HMO, PPO, Medicare/Medicaid, and other insurance carriers. Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT coding, and insurance guidelines Proficiency in the use of billing software and Advanced Excel and MS Office applications. Excellent communication and organizational skills, professionalism, accountability, and integrity. Proficient in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
