Job Description

Medical Assistant
  • Pediatric Endocrinology Pediatric Endocrinology Practice | Jefferson Valley & Yonkers, NY Per Diem / Hourly A new, physician-owned pediatric endocrinology practice is seeking a reliable, organized, and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our growing practice.
This is an opportunity to be part of a new, single-physician pediatric endocrinology practice and play an important role in establishing the office's day-to-day operations and patient experience. The position will involve both clinical and front-office responsibilities. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a small practice environment, enjoys working with children and families, is organized and dependable, and is willing to learn new systems and take on a variety of responsibilities. Responsibilities Clinical / Medical Assistant
  • Welcome and room patients and families
  • Obtain and document vital signs, including blood pressure, height, and weight
  • Perform accurate pediatric height and weight measurements
  • Obtain and document relevant patient history and medication information
  • Prepare examination rooms and assist with maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment
  • Prepare patient charts and ensure necessary information is available for the physician
  • Assist with medical records, laboratory results, referrals, and other clinical documentation
  • Communicate patient information and messages to the physician as appropriate Front Office / Administrative
  • Greet patients and families and provide a welcoming experience
  • Answer and manage incoming phone calls
  • Schedule and confirm appointments
  • Check patients in and out
  • Assist with registration, insurance information, and other front-office tasks
  • Obtain outside medical records and laboratory/imaging reports when needed
  • Scan, upload, and organize medical documents
  • Assist with prior authorizations and other administrative tasks as needed
  • Perform general office duties to support the day-to-day operation of the practice Training Because this is a new practice, the Medical Assistant will be trained on the practice's electronic medical record (EMR), telephone system, scheduling and communication workflows, and other office technology and procedures.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable learning new systems and can become increasingly independent as the practice develops. Qualifications
  • Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Experience in a pediatric or outpatient medical practice is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable interacting with children and their parents/caregivers
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable using computers and learning new software and technology
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in a small-practice environment
  • Dependable, professional, and patient-focused
  • Bilingual skills are a plus
  • CPR/BLS certification is a plus Schedule & Employment

  • Primarily weekday hours
  • Work location will include Jefferson Valley, NY and Yonkers, NY
  • Schedule and hours will vary based on the practice's clinic schedule What We Offer
