Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Surgery Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for surgical patients, ensuring seamless coordination of pre-operative preparations, scheduling, documentation, and post-operative follow-up. Responsibilities Coordinate surgical schedules by collaborating with physicians, patients, and clinical staff to ensure timely procedures. Prepare and review all necessary documentation, including medical records, care plans, and consent forms, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Medent Verify insurance information, including Medicare and health insurance coverage, to facilitate smooth billing processes and medical collection efforts. Assist patients with appointment scheduling, answering inquiries via phone with professional phone etiquette and providing excellent patient service. Review clinical documentation for accuracy and completeness; ensure proper CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and medical billing procedures are followed. Support administrative tasks such as data entry using Microsoft Office tools, maintaining medical records, and managing electronic health records (EHR) management systems efficiently. Requirements Proven experience in a medical office setting with strong knowledge of medical terminology, health information management, and clinical confidentiality policies. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or similar platforms; experience with electronic health records management is preferred. Knowledge of medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), billing processes, Medicare guidelines, and insurance verification procedures. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to review documentation thoroughly while maintaining attention to detail. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; typing speed of at least 10 key digits per minute is desirable. Exceptional customer service abilities with effective phone communication skills and professional phone etiquette. Bilingual capabilities are a plus to assist diverse patient populations effectively. Prior clinic or medical administrative support experience is highly valued; familiarity with front desk operations or medical scheduling is preferred. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining clinical confidentiality at all times. Pay:
