About Us We are a patient-focused dental practice dedicated to providing exceptional care and outstanding service. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Dental Billing Specialist to join our team and help ensure accurate claim processing, timely reimbursement, and excellent support for our patients and providers. Position Summary The Patient Account Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of dental insurance billing, claims processing, payment posting, and accounts receivable follow-up. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of dental insurance plans, billing procedures, and dental practice management software, along with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities Submit electronic and paper dental insurance claims accurately and promptly. Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits. Follow up on unpaid, denied, or delayed claims with insurance carriers. Post insurance and patient payments to accounts. Review and reconcile accounts receivable balances. Investigate and resolve claim discrepancies and billing issues. Communicate with patients regarding billing questions, insurance coverage, and payment responsibilities. Maintain accurate billing records and documentation. Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure proper coding and claim submission. Monitor aging reports and work to reduce outstanding balances. Stay current with insurance regulations, coding updates, and payer requirements. Schedule Monday-Friday On-site Requirements:
Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of dental billing experience. Knowledge of dental insurance plans, claims processing, and reimbursement procedures. Experience with dental practice management software. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Experience with Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, or similar software. Knowledge of CDT coding and dental terminology. Experience working in a multi-provider dental practice. Certification in dental billing, coding, or healthcare administration.
