The Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Healthy Lifestyles Director to lead our health and wellness programs and inspire our members to live their healthiest lives. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Healthy Lifestyles Director at the Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA serves others by intentionally welcoming, connecting, and supporting them and inviting them to get involved and give back to the community. He/She directs health and wellness promotion, retention, and program activities, including Active Older Adults programs.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years old. Bachelor's degree in kinesiology, physical education, recreation or equivalent or a minimum of two years of experience in health/fitness field, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Possess required certifications in group exercise and personal training, or have the ability to obtain these in the first 3 months of employment. Two or more years of supervisory and staff recruitment experience in health and wellness preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the recruitment, training, and supervision of staff and volunteers preferred. Ability to support the training of fitness staff, including, but not limited to group exercise instructors, personal trainers, and wellness coaches. Experience in planning and implementing activities with senior adults preferred. Obtain and remain compliant with all certifications and standards assigned by YMCA of the USA and the
AMA YMCA.
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to make oral presentations. Must be organized and detail-oriented. Must possess skills to operate standard office and computer equipment, data management, organizational and budgeting skills. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds. Commitment to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). CPR/AED/O2/First Aid certifications and Child Abuse Prevention, Anti-Harassment, Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Communication Awareness, and Slips, Trips, and Falls trainings required.
