Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and patient-focused Dermatology Surgery & Clinical Coordinator with a Medical Assistant background to support our dermatology clinic and surgical services. This position combines medical assisting, surgery coordination, patient care, and administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment and is willing to step in and support the clinic wherever needed. Responsibilities Coordinate surgical cases, procedure schedules, patient appointments, and follow-up visits. Communicate with patients regarding pre- and post-procedure instructions. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and medical records. Assist with referrals, surgery scheduling, prior authorization for biologics and other clinical coordination tasks. Coordinate pathology specimens and follow up on results as directed. Assist with communicating physician recommendations and next steps to patients as directed. Assist patients with questions regarding appointments, procedures, preparation instructions, and general clinic information. Assist providers with procedures and minor surgeries. Prepare procedure rooms, instruments, supplies, and patients for surgical procedures. Assist with biopsies, excisions, wound care, dressing changes, and other dermatology procedures within the scope of training. Assist with patient intake, vital signs, medication, and clinical rooming. Ensure exam and procedure rooms are properly stocked, cleaned, and prepared. Support providers and other clinical team members during busy clinic days. Provide coverage and additional Medical Assistant support when needed. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and clinic policies. Help ensure efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience. Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned. Help maintain smooth communication between patients, physicians, clinical staff, pathology laboratories, and other healthcare providers. Requirements Medical Assistant experience is a preferred Experience in dermatology, plastic surgery, or another surgical specialty preferred. Familiarity with dermatology procedures and surgical workflows is desirable. Experience communicating with pathology and laboratory results preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and patient-service skills. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a clinical team. Comfortable adapting to changing priorities and supporting the clinic where needed. EMR/EHR experience preferred. Ability to maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality at all times. We are looking for a team member who can coordinate dermatology surgeries and clinical duties while also being willing to step into a Medical Assistant role whenever the clinic needs additional support.
Pay:
$19.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
