We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Director to lead the clinical operations of our primary substance abuse inpatient treatment program. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the clinical team, ensuring high-quality patient care, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. The ideal candidate is a licensed LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in Virginia with leadership experience in an inpatient behavioral health or substance use treatment setting. Experience utilizing ASAM Criteria , supervising clinicians, and working within Virginia ARTS regulations is highly preferred. Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight for all clinical programming and treatment services. Supervise Therapists, Clinical Supervisors, Group Facilitators, Case Managers, and other clinical staff. Ensure compliance with Virginia Administrative Code, ARTS regulations, Medicaid requirements, and evidence-based treatment standards. Provide individual and group clinical supervision, case consultation, and professional development to clinical staff. Review and approve assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, continued stay reviews, discharge documentation, and other clinical records to ensure medical necessity and regulatory compliance. Ensure ASAM level-of-care determinations are clinically appropriate and accurately documented. Monitor documentation quality, productivity, outcomes, and overall program effectiveness while implementing quality improvement initiatives. Develop and enhance clinical programming, treatment curricula, and evidence-based interventions. Collaborate with executive leadership regarding staffing, operational performance, program development, and regulatory readiness. Serve as the facility's designated CHRIS Reporter and ensure reportable incidents are documented and submitted within required timelines. Promote a positive, patient-centered culture focused on recovery, safety, and exceptional clinical care. Perform additional leadership duties as assigned. Qualifications Master's Degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field. Active Virginia license as one of the following: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) Must qualify as a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) under Virginia regulations. Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in substance use disorder or behavioral health treatment. Previous clinical leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Strong working knowledge of:

ASAM Criteria Substance use disorder treatment Clinical documentation and medical necessity standards Medicaid-funded behavioral health services HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 Virginia ARTS regulations and 12VAC35-105 preferred. Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Pay:

$110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
