Clinical Oversight:
The Assistant Health Services Director performs a thorough health assessment on all new residents upon admission to the community. The Assistant Health Services Director is responsible for monitoring the health status of all current residents through assessments, evaluations, and care conferences scheduled quarterly or more frequently as required. Resident assessments, evaluations, and care plans will be entered into the approved software document by the Assistant Health Services Director. The Assistant Health Services Director will monitor compliance with those care plans by all staff. This monitoring includes initiating actions as required in improving their health status and reading of all alert charting from daily report. This monitoring is to include but not limited to; medication side effects, activities, meals, complaints, cognition and behaviors, ADL's and special requests. Using this information, the Assistant Health Services Director will react immediately to suspend resident abuse including a thorough investigation and notification of appropriate parties. 2.
Supervisory/Administrative Duties:
The Assistant Health Services Director is responsible for screening, hiring, training, and supervising all Medication Technicians. This includes managing poor performance, coaching to improve skills, managing activities to correspond to care plans and appropriate documentation and compliance with all human resource guidelines. Assures that all staff maintains appropriate annual training to keep up with state requirements. The Assistant Health Services Director is responsible for doing all scheduling and handling call-outs for Caregivers and Med Techs as assigned in the building. 3.
Continuous Quality Improvement:
The Assistant Health Services Director working with the Health Services Director will assist in ensuring there is a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activity in the building. Working with the Heath Services Director, assist in identifying and set priorities in resolving service related issues, and those CQI activities within the community meet Arcadia Senior Living goal of quarterly meetings, and document plans to improve quality. The Assistant Health Services Director will provide additional areas of CQI focus through clinical audits performed in the community as required and requested by Arcadia Senior Living. 4. Compliance with
Rules and Regulations:
The Assistant Health Services Director will support the Health Services Director in maintaining compliance with all local, state, and federal and licensing rules and regulations associated with the licensure of the building as they pertain to clinical and risk management activities. This includes HIPPAA, OHSA, and State Survey issues, etc that apply to the specific location of the property. 5.
Safety Compliance:
The Assistant Health Services Director is responsible for ensuring that all employees work in a safe manner and that unsafe actions are to be managed. Compliance with Safety Committee standards is required. Should workplace injuries occur, the Executive Director would be responsible for following all procedures for treatment, investigation, return to work, and management of the injured worker, communication with care provider and Arcadia Senior Living. 6.
Team Effectiveness:
The Assistant Health Services Director is responsible for fostering teamwork with co-workers, showing initiative in overcoming obstacles, takes actions to assist others beyond job responsibilities, and has a positive impact on co-workers, residents and visitors. 7. EDUCATION & LICENSING
Required:
Licensed or Registered Nurse State specific accreditation or license required
Preferred:
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred in business or field related to the position
EXPERIENCE
Required:
Must have proven management experience and ability to manage staff
Preferred:
Minimum three years' experience in assisted living, Alzheimer's or Memory Loss Care Experience in Residential Care Management, Clinical Director, or Risk Management Experience with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
WORKING CONDITIONS
Usual:
Professional office environment. Uses PC, telephones, word processing and other standard office equipment. Verbally able to articulate in person and over the phone. Attending business-related functions.
Special:
The Assistant Health Services Director encounters stressful conditions dealing with residents and employees. Must be able to work with the Health Services Director, Executive Director, and community management staff, in organizing and implementing programs and training in clinical and risk management areas. Excellent verbal and written skills, interpersonal and mediation skills, ability to evaluate workers' performance, strong working knowledge of employment laws and company regulations.
