Job Description

Serving the needs of Garfield Heights and the Southeast communities of Cuyahoga County, Marymount Hospital is an acute care, faith-based hospital. The Audiometric Technician supports both Speech Therapy and Rehab Administration Cost Centers. We provide mobile hearing testing services and recently partnered with Occupational Health to provide audiogram reviews and additional on-site hearing testing services. This is a PRN role. A caregiver in this position will work varying hours and days as needed. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Operate the truck and trailer used for the mobile hearing testing program. Comply with all applicable policies of CC Transportation and Fleet Services. Perform pure tone air conduction audiometry as an audiology aide licensed under an audiologist. Ensure the proper operation of the equipment via biological calibration before use of audiometers and safety checks of the truck/trailer. Educate/train industrial workers on hearing conservation and the proper use of hearing protection using various teaching tools. Review case history and demographic information of worker prior to each test to ensure complete information prior to entering information into the database. Assist the audiologist with the audiometric practicum at CAOHC classes. Provide pure tone air conduction hearing threshold testing per OSHA's requirements at industries via the mobile hearing test unit. Use microprocessor audiometer or manual audiometry to perform valid hearing tests and retests. Perform a biological calibration on each audiometer prior to use and does not proceed with testing if equipment needs maintenance. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High school diploma or equivalent Licensure as an audiology aid by the Ohio Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology Audiology aide license must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment Certification as an occupational hearing conservationist by the Council for Accreditation of Occupational Hearing Conservationists (CAOHC) CAOHC certification must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Experience working in a healthcare environment
Physical Requirements:
Requires the ability to walk, sit, and climb up and down three steps. Worker may be sitting or standing while operating the microprocessor audiometers. Worker must be able to carry a 20 pound cord and reel for at least 50 feet.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
Pay Range Minimum hourly:
$27.00 Maximum hourly: $27.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). The pay range does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic's benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
