The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum, Down syndrome, Intellectual Delay, and more. This role involves providing support and guidance to enhance the skills and independence of our clients in various settings. The Instructor will play a crucial role in fostering a positive learning environment and promoting personal growth through tailored instruction and care. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized lesson plans that cater to the unique needs of each client. Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities, assisting them with activities of daily living as needed. Engage clients in meaningful activities that enhance their social skills, communication abilities, and overall well-being. Collect data on client progress and behaviors to inform ongoing instructional strategies. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure client's development. Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress reports, and any incidents that occur during sessions. Qualifications Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or autism is highly preferred. Background in special education or related fields is advantageous. Proficiency in American Sign Language is a plus. Proficiency in Spanish & English is a plus. Knowledge of behavioral health practices and behavior management strategies is essential. Prior experience in home & community care settings is beneficial. Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members. Valid driver's license required l. Experience in caregiving or direct support roles is desirable.
