Fremont County Part-Time, Academic Year HIPPY Home Visitor

Job Description

General Purpose:
The HIPPY Home Visitor supports families with preschool-aged children in Fremont County by delivering the HIPPY curriculum through weekly home visits. This position strengthens parent-child relationships and promotes school readiness by empowering parents to be their child's first and most important teacher. This is a part-time hourly position that follows the academic calendar (September through May), with no scheduled work during the summer months (June-August).
  • This position is primarily home-based within Fremont County. Employees are required to attend in-person team role play and meetings at the Pueblo office each Monday.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work primarily from a home office while serving eligible HIPPY families throughout Fremont County.
  • Conduct weekly home visits with enrolled families to role-play and model the HIPPY curriculum
  • Prepare lesson and gather materials to ensure families have what they need to complete weekly activities
  • Encourage and support parents in building their confidence as their child's primary educator.
  • Participates in monthly reflective supervision and all required staff meetings.
  • Participates in monthly Enhanced Home Visiting reflective supervision and quarterly Enhanced Home Visiting mindfulness consultation
  • Participate in weekly team meetings, professional development throughout the academic year,
  • Attend outreach events and assist in recruitment efforts
  • Serve a caseload of approximately 13 families weekly
  • Maintain accurate records, complete required documentation, and communicate regularly with supervisors
  • Represent the program positively in the community and support the mission of Catholic Charities
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to work effectively from a home office while maintaining communication with supervisors and the HIPPY team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Comfortable entering family homes and working with diverse populations
  • Dependable and committed to consistent weekly visits and meetings
  • Comfortable role-playing educational activities with parents during visits
  • Willingness to drive to family homes and events throughout the counties served.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred, but not required Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, proof of motor vehicle insurance and pass required background checks
Education and Experience:
  • Associates degree in Early Childhood Development or related field highly preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED with 1 year of supervised work experience working with families and children under 5 required.
  • Experience in home visiting, or peer support roles is a plus.
  • Participation in the HIPPY program as a parent or former HIPPYCorps member is highly valued.
Work Environment:
  • Non-profit social service agency
  • Primarily home-based work environment with regular travel throughout Fremont County to conduct home visits.
  • Required in-person attendance at the Pueblo office each Monday for team role play and meetings.
  • Mileage required travel to the Pueblo office will be reimbursed according to agency policy.
  • Business casual attire appropriate for home visits and community engagement.
