As a DSP, you will provide compassionate, personalized care and support, fostering a safe and nurturing environment. Responsibilities Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, dressing, and hygiene. Support residents with medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations. Implement and follow individualized care plans tailored to each person's needs, including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and neurodevelopmental disorders support. Help with meal preparation, cooking, and maintaining cleanliness in the living environment to promote health and safety. Provide transportation assistance for appointments or community outings using personal transportation or agency vehicles. Maintain accurate documentation of care activities while adhering to HIPAA privacy standards. Support residents in engaging in recreational activities and community involvement to foster socialization and independence. Respond promptly to emergency situations by administering first aid or CPR when necessary; ensure safety at all times. Skills Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders. Strong ability to assist with ADLs including personal care assistance and meal preparation. Excellent client communication skills; compassionate approach to caregiving is a must. Ability to perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and maintaining a safe environment. Valid certifications in CPR and first aid; experience working within HIPAA guidelines is preferred. Knowledge of medication administration procedures and care plan implementation. Prior experience in home & community care settings or long-term care environments is advantageous.
