This position involves providing assistance and support in daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. The DSP will work closely with clients to foster their personal growth and help them achieve their goals while maintaining dignity and respect. •Thursday and Friday 8:30am-4:30pm, must have your own car•Responsibilities Support clients in community integration by facilitating participation in social, recreational, and educational activities. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's unique needs and preferences. Monitor and document client progress, behaviors, and any changes in condition. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of clients. Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols, including first aid when necessary. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to coordinate care effectively. Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with legal and ethical standards. Skills Experience in home health care or assisted living environments is highly beneficial. Knowledge of working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or autism is preferred. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Competence in first aid procedures to ensure safety during emergencies. Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are essential qualities for success in this role. Experience Candidates should have at least one year of verifiable experience working directly with individuals receiving services in a medical, psychiatric, nursing , or childcare setting or working with recipients who have a developmental disability. In lieu of the required work experience, employees may have 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours or 720 classroom hours of college or vocational school.
