Responsibilities Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; observe and report any changes or concerns Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning patient areas, laundry, and sanitation duties Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to safely transfer residents with mobility challenges Document patient observations, care provided, and any incidents accurately in accordance with healthcare standards and privacy laws Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive atmosphere that respects each resident's dignity and preferences Experience Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, home health care, or group homes is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), autism support, and hospice care is advantageous Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and perform patient monitoring with compassion and professionalism Familiarity with safety procedures such as CPR and first aid certification is required; additional training in HIPAA compliance is beneficial Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring long-term care enhances your suitability for this role Ability to lift heavy objects safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, social workers, family members, and residents This position is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals eager to provide exceptional personal care while advancing their skills in healthcare.
