Direct Support Professional

Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe, nurturing environment. Your dedication will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve, fostering a sense of community and well-being. Duties Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patient health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and nutrition management Operate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safe movement Maintain cleanliness of living environments through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks Document resident progress, update care plans, and communicate effectively with team members about patient needs and concerns Skills Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or intellectual disabilities support Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and geriatrics best practices Proficiency in patient monitoring, medication administration, CPR, first aid, and emergency response procedures Familiarity with assisted living, nursing home, home health, hospice care, and long-term care environments Ability to perform patient transfers using Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices safely Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration Physical stamina for heavy lifting, patient transfer methods, manual handling, and assisting with ADLs Experience working within HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality Ability to provide compassionate caregiving while maintaining professional boundaries and safety standards Join our team as a Direct Support Professional where your dedication transforms lives!
